This month, the word "demure" suddenly became popular online and ignited a cultural dialogue. Jools Lebron, the beauty influencer who sparked the viral trend, spoke with Mr. USA Trend about
the meaning of the word "demure" and how it inspired her well-known video. "It means your demureness to you. Jools told "mr usa trend" that it's about being aware of and respectful of the people in your immediate vicinity as well as of yourself and your public image.
The origins of the "demure trend" Early in August, Jools shared a 38-second video on her Instagram account showcasing her professional makeup look, which set off the "demure" trend. Observe my makeup application for work.
Extremely quiet and thoughtful. I try not to do too much. I work very mindfully during the day. Look at me, how do I look? extremely well-groomed. In the TikTok video that popularized the word "demure," she said,
"A lot of you girls go to the interview, looking like Marge Simpson, and go to the job looking like Patty and Selma, not demure." Jools said at the time that she was a cashier by day and that
she posted videos from her car, never dreaming that her videos would be seen by millions of people. Her initial reference to her "demure" theme was
another video, in which she first wore a more dramatic makeup look at a previous job before deciding to go for a more natural look on her first day of a new job.
I said, "Let's do something very natural." Let's limit our actions. I was like, "I don't bring a green cut crease to the first day of school." She clarified in an interview,
"I really wasn't referring to how I had shown up at another job; I don't show up looking like a clown.
What is meant by "demure"? Jools, also known as joolieannie on TikTok, claimed that her interpretation of "demure" is a declaration of confidence and self-awareness rather than merely about appearance.
"It doesn't have to be so serious; we're all in this together. Nothing needs to be that forceful. Everything could just be so adorable. Where we don't do too much, you know.
We are not very active. I'm not overly fond of it. I'm very modest," she remarked. With millions of TikTok views and an expanding fan following,
Jools is changing the definition of "demure" in the modern digital world. For Jools, it's a way of life rather than just a saying.
She employs the word "demure" to characterize not only her timeless, understated style but also
as a lighthearted reference to her transgender identity. "I found more girls who were similar to me when I started creating TikToks.
I found transgender plus-size girls who are going through the same experiences that are specific to that set of combinations,
" the speaker said. Jools expressed her surprise at the transformation of the video.
Over the years, she has experimented with a variety of content genres, but nothing has taken off like her most recent "demure" series.
These include makeup tutorials and videos about Bratz dolls.
Jools' life has been profoundly impacted by the platform, which has given her access to brand opportunities.
