An unidentified man was discovered dead on Walton Road in Manor Park, Newham Street.

Following the discovery of a man's death in the early hours of Wednesday, July 23, a significant police presence has been established on Walton Road in Newham (E12).

At at 4:41 am, Metropolitan Police officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a body in the road. Despite prompt response from emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, the man—who was thought to be in his 50s—was tragically declared dead at the scene.

Residents have reported a large police cordon in place since around 10 a.m., with a blue forensics tent set up at the spot and the entire area cordoned off. As officers continue their investigations, the cordon has been extended to neighboring streets.

The man's death is currently being handled as "unexpected," and authorities have opened an inquiry to find out how he passed away. Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything strange to come forward while forensic officials conduct thorough inspections of the area.

"We are seeking to establish the complete facts surrounding this event," a Metropolitan Police official stated. We have not yet notified the man's next of kin.

Road closures are still in place while the inquiry is ongoing, so locals are urged to stay away.
