Rachel Booth Northwich Suicide: According to Cheshire Police, a body found in an Oakmere lake is that of Rachel Booth, a 38-year-old mother of three who vanished on Saturday while out on an early morning jog.
Rachel, from Barnton near Northwich, was last seen on CCTV at 3:50 a.m. at a Shell garage in Sandiway, where she purchased wine and milk. Staff at the store reported that she appeared calm and composed after what was believed to be a 45-minute run.
A widespread search was launched over the weekend, involving specialist police teams, search dogs, divers, and volunteers from Cheshire Search and Rescue. On Monday, their efforts led to the heartbreaking discovery of her body in Delamere Lake, near the Wild Shore Delamere water sports park. Cheshire Police confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Rachel's death. A file is being prepared for the coroner.
"Specially trained officers are supporting Rachel's family, and they have asked for privacy during this incredibly difficult time," a police spokesperson said.
The local community has been left stunned. Tributes have poured in for the devoted wife and mother. "It's so very, very sad. She had three children," said Raj Kaur, a shop assistant in Barnton. Online, others echoed the heartbreak: "Not the news we wanted. My thoughts are with her family and especially her beautiful boys."
The investigation continues as the community mourns a devastating loss.
