Ridgefield, Connecticut's Larry Bossidy Death Cause and Obituary: We regret to inform you of the passing of Larry Bossidy, a great man whose influence extends well beyond the business community and into the hearts of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. Larry died in Ridgefield, Connecticut, leaving behind a legacy of honesty, compassion, and leadership. He was a cherished husband, father, mentor, and friend.
In addition to being a titan of business, Larry Bossidy was also an inspiration and a visionary. Larry was well-known for his strategic acumen, operational discipline, and straightforward leadership style while serving as the chairman and CEO of Honeywell and AlliedSignal. Co-authored with Ram Charan, his best-selling book Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done became a classic in the field of corporate leadership. Those closest to him, however, were aware that beneath the imposing CEO lay a man of great kindness, knowledge, and humility.
He led with heart as well as results. He supported, pushed, and celebrated the development of people because he believed in them. In addition to his wisdom, many people attribute Larry's influence on their lives and careers to his unshakeable commitment to always doing the right thing.
In addition to his career achievements, Larry was a loving family man. His life was built on his love for his wife and kids. Despite his enormous success, he maintained his groundedness, loved spending time with his family, and found joy in the little things.
In addition, Larry took pride in being a Ridgefield resident. He exuded grace and a strong moral compass whether he was giving advice or coaching aspiring leaders.
It would be an understatement to say that he will be missed. Larry Bossidy leaves behind a legacy of excellence, character, and love—a legacy that will continue to shape those who knew him, worked with him, and looked up to him. His family is in our prayers and thoughts during this trying time. May them take solace in the knowledge that Larry changed the world and the lives of countless people in a way that will endure a lifetime.
