The football community in Trafford, Pennsylvania, mourns the passing of coach TJ Detruf.

It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death of TJ Detruf, one of our cherished coaches. We are all forever changed by Coach TJ's services, and he has been a vital member of our football family. Everyone who had the honor of knowing him will miss him terribly. His commitment, enthusiasm, and consistent support for our players have been incredibly motivating.

We are sending Coach TJ's family our best wishes and prayers during this extremely trying time. We wish to offer them our sincerest sympathies and support because we cannot fathom the suffering they are going through.

The Boosters will be gathering money to try to provide Coach TJ's family some consolation and support. Donations can be made in person on Picture Day or through Venmo if you would want to help. The family would really benefit from your generosity as they work through this trying time.

We appreciate your generosity and help during this difficult time. Let us unite as a community to pay tribute to Coach TJ and provide his family with any assistance we can. TJ was a real member of our family, and football is family. TJ had an impact on every community he was a part of, from his time as a quarterback for the Jeannette Jayhawks to his time as a Penn-Trafford Warriors football staff member and his enthusiastic support of Dom as a Hempfield Spartan.

We offer our sincere condolences to Dom, his wife Jen, and the whole Detruf family. TJ was a fantastic husband, parent, friend, and mentor who was always eager to help, support, and encourage people. Though greatly lost, his presence will always be remembered. TJ, the Spartans are aware that you will be observed from above. We intend to make you proud this season as we play with you in our hearts.
