Willow Glen Apartments and a nearby construction site in Millcreek are engulfed in a massive fire.
Thick smoke plumes swept across the east bench of Salt Lake County Thursday evening as a huge fire broke out at the Willow Glen Apartments in Millcreek. According to reports, the fire swiftly spread to surrounding cars, fields, and residential buildings after beginning at a construction site behind the complex close to Murray Holladay Road and 1300 East.
Numerous buildings and vehicles were engulfed in flames when authorities arrived at the area, which was located close to 4600 South and 1300 East. As people hurried to flee, witnesses reported tumultuous scenes, with several Willow Glen apartments completely destroyed by fire. It was also reported that other cars in nearby lots were burning.
Because of the extensive damage caused by the fire, emergency personnel are advising the public to stay away from the location. Multiple fire department crews are actively attempting to contain the fire and stop it from spreading, but their efforts have been hampered by the dry weather and strong gusts.
As of right now, no injuries have been reported, and it is unclear how much property has been damaged. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
The story is still evolving. Residents are advised to avoid the area and pay attention to local authorities' updates.
