A 37-year-old man named Erick Velez lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident in Plains Township.

 The motorcyclist who died in a collision on North River Street in Plains Township on Friday morning was identified by Luzerne County Coroner Dion Fernandes.

According to Fernandes, Exeter resident Erick Velez, 37, was declared dead at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center not long after arriving. The collision involving a motorbike and a Jeep at the junction of Hancock Street next to Burger King is being looked into by Plains Township police and state police.
