Last week, a hiking mishap in Marin County claimed the life of a 17-year-old. A GoFundMe page claims that the accident occurred on August 11 while the teen was hiking in the Marin Headlands.
He was recognized by the GoFundMe as Aaron Baten. Aaron leaves his parents and two sisters behind.
Obituary for Aaron Baten
According to the GoFundMe, "At barely 17, Aaron impacted countless hearts with his generosity, laughter, and ambitions for the future." "Unfortunately, Aaron had an accident on August 11th while hiking at Marin Headlands, which was something he truly loved."
According to an Instagram post from the establishment, Aaron spent two years working at Boichik Bagels in Larkspur.
"The untimely loss of 17-year-old Aaron Baten, our beloved teammate of two years at Larkspur, is greatly devastated," wrote Boichik Bagels.
Aaron also worked at The Shack ice cream business in Larkspur, according to GoFundMe. According to his former employment, he was well-liked by both his coworkers and the children he served ice cream to.
"Aaron was the happiest and most diligent worker at The Shack. He was adored by the customers, the workers, and the children! Even after working for hours, he always seemed to be having fun and had the most energy! The Shack wrote, "We are deeply sorry for your loss.
The Marin Independent Journal reported that Aaron was entering his senior year at San Rafael High School. According to the outlet, Aaron passed away following a fall from a cliff.
As of yet, the circumstances surrounding the trekking accident remain unclear. KRON4 did not receive a response from SRHS in time for publishing.
