 Cody Curry, Accident in Carlyle, Illinois, Cause of Death: We lament with great sadness and heavy hearts the untimely death of Cody Curry of Carlyle, Illinois. A loving husband, father, and accomplished lineman with IBEW Local 702, Cody passed away this week in a tragic job accident while operating a helicopter for aerial line maintenance. This tragic event happened while he was doing what he loved, which was helping his community and working with his brothers and sisters in the profession.

In addition to Cody's family and friends, the larger community of linemen other vital workers who are aware of the dangers and sacrifices required to maintain our electrical systems is also deeply saddened by his demise. Despite the inherent dangers of linework, Cody tackled it with professionalism, bravery, and a strong sense of duty.

Cody was the type of man who showed up, whether it was to help a friend move across town or to answer a storm call in the middle of the night.
