The dismissal and arrest of a part-time adjunct coach at Hillcrest High School in relation to a student's sexual battery case has been confirmed by authorities.
According to the Simpsonville Police Department, Ceisean Jahad Tucker-Grimes, 26, was arrested on Friday after detectives found that he had an inappropriate extracurricular contact with a Hillcrest High School student.
An arrest warrant states that the incident happened off-campus on June 2. Tucker-Grimes was arrested as a result of an urgent investigation after police said they were initially informed of the accusations on Monday.
He has been booked into the Greenville County Detention Center and is currently facing a charge of sexual battery with a student.
Tucker-Grimes is no longer working for Greenville County Schools, the district confirmed. The district will continue to work closely with law enforcement, officials said in a statement, underscoring their dedication to the safety and welfare of every student.
Authorities are asking anyone with more information to call the Simpsonville Police Department at 864-967-9536. The crime is still being investigated.
As parents and children alike struggle with the alarming accusations against someone tasked with guiding youth, this arrest has left the community in disbelief.
