Donald Mccormick's Cause of Death and Obituary in Pleasantville, Iowa

Donald Mccormick, Cause of Death, Obituary, Pleasantville, Iowa: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald McCormick, a beloved candidate from Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) #87 and a junior at Pleasantville High School. All who knew and loved Donald have been profoundly affected by his departure since he was engaged in a horrific car accident on the afternoon of Sunday, August 3.

Donald was not merely a pupil. He was an intelligent, good-natured young man who exuded happiness, curiosity, and faith. He shown a strong desire to deepen his relationship with Christ and lead a life focused on connection, love, and service through his involvement with TEC. He is remembered by his mentors, friends, and table group as someone who inspired others just by being himself, laughed often, and listened intently.

We hold fast to the promises of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who assures us that death is not the end and that we will one day be reunited with our loved ones in His eternal presence, even as we mourn this terrible loss. We are deeply sad, but we are also deeply hopeful.

We encourage everyone who knew Donald, whether it was through church, TEC, school, or the larger Pleasantville community, to unite in support and remembrance.

Donald McCormick vigil

Date: August 5th, Tuesday

Location: Flagpole Area and PHS Event Center

The PHS Event Center will host an open gathering from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. This will be a place for introspection, healing, and dialogue in peace. Students, friends, and family will receive extra emotional support and care from adults, pastors, certified counselors, and therapy dogs.

A candlelight vigil will be held at the PHS flagpole area from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. In remembrance of Donald's life, influence, and religion, this event will start with the sharing of stories and memories. Candles that run on batteries will be available. As a fitting homage to a life that connected so many, we will sing together as we wrap out the evening.

We ask for ongoing prayers for Donald's friends, family, school community, TEC table group, and everyone else dealing with the shock of his unexpected death. Everyone experiences grief in a different way, so may we show each other grace, tolerance, and compassion during this time of intense sadness.

In the conversations he started, the faith he fostered, and the joy he shared, Donald McCormick's light endures in the lives he touched. Even though his physical body is no longer with us, his soul is still ingrained in our hearts, memories, and communities.

Donald, may you rest in Jesus' embrace. You are cherished and will always be
