He put his all into anything he believed in, never half-heartedly, and always with passion and purpose—all in typical Stoll flair.

He was a rock for his community, a mentor to many, and a guy whose life was molded by helping others. Whether it was a private coffee chat, an impromptu invitation to impart knowledge, or a silent prayer session with a buddy in need, Eric was always there, always providing.

We shared in the devastating loss of his prematurely born kid just a week ago; the wound is still very much present. He displayed the same bravery and faith he had always held in that time of shared suffering. Grieving him so soon after is painful and perplexing. We anticipated 36 more years of healing, hope, and fresh starts. We would do anything to regain them.

Recently, Eric had taken on the role of a sounding board, frequently calling to exchange connections, thoughts, burdens, and hopes. The echoes of his support and concern endure even though that relationship and rhythm are now quiet.

But there is one constant comfort. Eric had a deep affection for Jesus. He dedicated his life to serving others, guiding them toward the optimism that kept him going, and mentoring them in their religion. Therefore, even though our hearts are breaking here on earth, we are positive that he is now in God's presence, where he is experiencing unfathomable joy and serenity.

We see him now, bouncing across heaven, as vibrant and full of life as ever, with that enduring smile even brighter and wider. With the same boundless enthusiasm he had here, he is enjoying the splendors of eternity and is most likely already mentoring someone up there as well. He can now clearly perceive the fullness and tranquility we can only desire. If he had the ability to communicate with us, it would be through his smile, telling us to live with the same unwavering faith that he did and to never give up.
