HPD Looks Into Main Street Homicide: Continue Reading

 A fatal shooting on Main Street early on Sunday morning is being looked into by the Hartford Police Department.

Patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire at 3250 Main Street on August 24, 2025, at around 1:42 a.m. Officers found a gunshot victim who was not responding when they arrived.

After being taken to a nearby hospital, the victim—later identified as Niajae Vernon, 25, of Hartford (DOB: 1/13/00)—was declared dead.

The homicide is being investigated by the Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions. Information about potential suspects has not yet been made public by authorities.
