 Richland Center, WI's Lucas Weitzel Death Cause and Obituary: We regret to inform you of the untimely death of Lucas Elijah Weitzel, a 21-year-old Richland Center, Wisconsin resident, who was killed in a motorcycle accident on Friday, August 1, 2025. His family, friends, teammates, and community members who knew and loved him are all deeply and painfully saddened by his abrupt loss.

Lucas, the third of John and Tara (Dary) Weitzel's seven children, was born in Madison, Wisconsin, on December 5, 2003. He grew up in a loving, close-knit family where hard work, cooperation, and faith were valued. These accompanied Lucas throughout his entire life.

At Ithaca High School, Lucas excelled as a student-athlete and graduated. He was quite active in football and wrestling, where he stood out for his strength, tenacity, and sportsmanship. Along with his skill on the mat and field, he was a devoted teammate and a born leader who was respected by both peers and coaches. His humility and kindness were the only things that could equal his competitive drive.

Lucas loved the outdoors, riding motorbikes, and hanging out with friends and family when he was not doing sports. He possessed a cheerful smile, an adventurous spirit, and an open heart to everyone around him. Lucas had a way of making the world feel a bit lighter, whether it was by supporting a sister, volunteering in the neighborhood, or making someone laugh when things became hard.

Lucas was described as nice, courteous, and full of potential by those who knew him. He lived a life full of vitality and purpose, constantly seeking the next objective, the next challenge, and the next happy moment. The community has been rocked by his tragic death, which has served as a reminder of how fleeting and valuable life can be.

His six siblings, his devoted parents, John and Tara Weitzel, as well as numerous friends, coaches, teammates, and other members of his extended family will always remember him.
