 Jacobs, Gary Landyn, Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina Death Cause and Obituary: The community and family of Gary Landyn Jacobs announce with deep sadness that he passed away on August 14, 2025, at the age of just 17. Everyone who knew and loved Gary is devastated by his untimely death.

Gary was a lively, intelligent young man who brightened every space he walked into. His contagious humor, gentle nature, and ability to make people feel appreciated and seen will all live on in his memory. Whether it was through his activity at school, his friendships, or his time with his family, Gary left a lasting impression that is impossible to adequately describe.

In addition to his siblings and extended relatives, who treasure the memories they had with him, he is sadly missed by his parents, Greg Randal Jacobs and Heather Creech Jacobs. His family recalls him as a source of joy and strength, someone who lived each day with passion and purpose and who loved sincerely.

There will be a visitation on August 19 and a funeral service at East Columbus High School on August 20 to celebrate Gary's life and provide a venue for the community to come together in memory. These events will provide family members a chance to honor the life of a wonderful young man whose journey was meaningful despite its brief duration.

While the community mourns, they also express gratitude for the gift of Gary's existence—a life that filled so many with love, laughter, and joy.
