Joshua was a young man who was full of life, with a loving heart and a lively personality. He had a fast smile, contagious laughter, and a demeanor that made everyone feel appreciated and welcome, whether he was with his friends, in the classroom, or on the field. According to those closest to him, he was a kind, devoted, and ambitious individual who left a lasting impression everywhere he went.
Joshua, a student with a bright future ahead of him, had goals and aspirations that mirrored his inquisitive and imaginative personality. He enjoyed spending time with his family, sports, and music. He had a strong and unique bond with his sister, Bailey, and particularly enjoyed spending time with her. He honored, respected, and cared for his parents, Melissa Carter and Geovanny Guzman, in a way that demonstrated his love for them.
Joshua is survived by his devoted parents, sister, Bailey Carter, and several family members that loved him, such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The larger Waynesboro and Burke County communities have united in support and remembering, sharing their sorrow.
On August 9, Berean Baptist Church will host a visiting and funeral ceremony in remembrance of Joshua's life. All those who knew and loved him will get the chance to honor him, exchange tales, and commemorate the life of a brilliant young man who passed away too soon at these events.
As they deal with this terrible loss, the families of Guzman and Carter ask for your continued prayers and support in the days to come.
