 Sarasota, Florida resident Matt Rowden Death Cause and Obituary: We regret to inform you of the untimely death of our darling son, Matthew “Matt” Hurley Rowden, who passed away in Sarasota, Florida, early on August 10, 2025, from a sudden cardiac arrhythmia. Everyone who knew and loved Matt is very saddened by his sudden departure, which occurred just eleven days before his 26th birthday.

Matt was the second of Tammy and my four children, born on August 21, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia. It was evident from the beginning that Matt had a compelling presence—brimming with vitality, humor, and an alluring charm. He left a lasting impression with his brilliant smile, keen sense of humor, and quick wit. Matt had a remarkable ability to brighten every space he entered, whether he was with friends, family, or complete strangers.

Matt was a very devoted and incredibly compassionate person, and his relationships were based on genuineness. He was the type of buddy that would always be there, regardless of the time, place, or circumstance. According to his pals, they could always rely on him for a good laugh, a sympathetic ear, or simply the kind of mischief that creates memories that are worth cherishing. Every time he left a meeting, he had lifted someone is spirits and eased their burdens.

Matt's approach to life combined a good amount of irreverence with compassion. Even in the darkest moments, his edgy sense of humor could make us laugh, and it is precisely that spark we will hold onto in the days ahead as we try to understand a life lost so young. To ensure that nobody was overly solemn for too long, Matt would be the first to joke around at his own memorial. Without a good story or two, and without some humor, he would not want to cry.

Matt devoted his life to his role as a friend, brother, and son. He was treasured for his unwavering presence, adored for his genuineness, and adored by his siblings. His relationships were solid and long-lasting, built on sincere affection, hard-won trust, and laughter.

We are incredibly thankful for the time we spent with Matt, even if our hearts are broken. Just by existing, he improved the world. His influence was extensive, profound, and long-lasting, despite his far too brief tenure here.

His wit, vitality, anecdotes, and most importantly, the unreserved love he provided, will all be sorely missed.
