Stratton (Hinton), a beloved teacher, valued CHS alumna, and remarkable human being who lost her valiant fight with cancer. Only a few weeks have passed since the death of her sister, Amanda Hinton, who also bravely battled the same terrible illness. For their loved ones, friends, pupils, and everyone who had the honor of knowing them, their passing leaves an unfathomable hole in their hearts.

In addition to being a teacher, Nicole served as a mentor, an inspiration, and a wellspring of compassion and strength for the CHS community. She was passionate about teaching outside of the classroom. In addition to her education, she inspired her students with humor, support, and a strong sense of self-worth. She will be remembered by generations of pupils for her ability to make them feel recognized, respected, and capable in addition to her teachings.

Being a former student herself, Nicole had a unique understanding of the school's culture and pulse.
