Obituary and Death of Joey Washington: 40-Year-Old Sibley Man Died in a Bloody Webster Parish Crash Continue Reading
Joey Washington, 40, of Sibley, lost his life in a terrible single-vehicle collision early on Saturday morning when his pickup truck swerved off the road and caught fire.
According to Louisiana State Police, the collision happened on August 24 at approximately 2:45 a.m. on U.S. Highway 371 close to Yellow Pine Road. Investigators found that Washington was driving a 2020 Ford F-150 north when the car veered off the road, went down an embankment, and collided with a tree. The truck caught fire as a result of the forceful crash.
Despite their prompt arrival, emergency personnel discovered the car completely engulfed in flames. Washington was declared dead at the scene after becoming trapped inside. Whether he was restrained at the time has not yet been verified by authorities.
Examining potential contributing variables like impairment, exhaustion, speed, or mechanical failure, the Louisiana State Police Crash Team is looking into the cause.
The Sibley neighborhood and Washington's family are devastated by his unexpected death, lamenting the loss of a cherished guy whose life ended far too soon.
