Honoring a Life of Family Devotion, Love, and Strength (1979–2019) –At the age of 40, Kimberly Renette Belk passed away on September 22, 2019, leaving the town of Starkville, Mississippi in sadness. The cherished daughter of Joe Belk and the late Cora Bean, Kimberly was born in Ackerman, Mississippi, on August 22, 1979. For her family, friends, and everyone who had the good fortune to know her, her death leaves a profound hole.
Rev. Joseph Stone Jr. will officiate a ceremony of commemoration for Kimberly on Saturday at Second Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. After the service, her family and loved ones will assemble at Rest Haven Cemetery to pay their respects to her memory before she is laid to rest. The arrangements have been entrusted to Century Hairston Funeral Home, where a visitation has been planned for Friday from 1 to 5:30 p.m.
Kimberly's life exemplified fortitude, empathy, and an undying devotion to her family. She was well-known for her generosity and commitment to those around her, and her warmth and fortitude changed many people's lives. She remained a beacon of love and optimism in the face of adversity, and many who knew her recall her as someone who could offer consolation and support to others.
Her adopted mother, Emma Belk, who was particularly important in her life, her two loyal children, Decoreaun Harris and N'Kia Belk, as well as her loving father, Joe Belk, survive her.
