Odessa Fatal Crash Takes Local Man's Life: Continue Reading

 Authorities are looking into a fatal collision that happened at the intersection of Dixie and Pool Road on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at around 10:25 p.m.

Marcus Gentry, 44, of Stephenville, was driving a red Dodge 3500 west on Pool Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Odessa Police Department (OPD) and Odessa Fire Rescue (OFR). The Dodge left the road and rolled over after colliding with a gray Jeep that was heading north on Dixie.

Gentry was declared dead at the spot after being ejected from the car. His family has been informed.

The Dodge passenger was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment after suffering non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other recorded injuries.

OPD and OFR are still investigating the crash. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to come forward by the authorities.
