 The death of a homeless lady who was found unconscious and covered in blood in a tent early on Tuesday morning is being investigated by the Anaheim police.


After the woman was discovered inside a tent in a "huge vacant field" on the north side of the roadway, Anaheim police and fire department officers responded at the 2100 block of West Crescent Avenue at around three in the morning.


She was pronounced dead at the scene after being described as "unconscious and bleeding." Her death was promptly determined to be a homicide by the Anaheim police.

Jessica Elaine Crummel, 43, of Anaheim, has been identified as the victim. According to authorities, she might have been living in a tent when she passed away.

Anyone with information on the victim or the circumstances surrounding her death is urged to call the Anaheim Police Department at 714-321-3669. A thorough murder investigation has been launched.
