We regretfully announce the passing of Dr. Julie Punzalan-Garcia, DMD, who was devoted to her family and was kind.

We regret to inform you of the demise of Dr. Julie Punzalan-Garcia, DMD, our cherished sister. On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Julie, who was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 8, 1962, went to rest in peace at HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese, Illinois.

We had the wonderful fortune to bid her farewell in her last days. Ate Julie's love never wavered, even as her voice became weaker and her strength diminished. She exemplified selflessness and a strong love for family by reminding us to take care of our own health despite having a serious illness herself. Her family was her first priority, and she was naturally kind and compassionate.

Julie has a servant's heart from a young age. She demonstrated the same compassion and charity that would be essential to her life in high school by joining groups that assisted blind and impoverished children. She graduated from International School Manila in the class of 1980 and led a life characterized by love, loyalty, and service.

Dr. Arnel Garcia, Julie's loving husband of 37 years, is her surviving spouse. He provided her with unwavering care and remained by her side till the end. She is also survived by her children, Adrian (Kaylee Flores-Garcia) Garcia of Corona, CA, and Jacqueline (Joseph O'Neill) Garcia-O'Neill of Kansas City, MO. Together, they created a lovely family.

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton, Illinois, will celebrate a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial.

Julie's life exemplified grace, kindness, and unshakable love. She was a lovely wife, loyal mother, beloved sister, and kind friend. She will always hold a place in our hearts.
