A tragic motorcycle accident in Beacon Falls claims the life of a teenager from Naugatuck.
BEACON, CT — According to state police, a teenage Naugatuck motorcyclist died Friday morning after colliding with an SUV in Beacon Falls.
Just before noon, a collision on Beacon Valley Road claimed the life of 19-year-old Ethan Dane Viele. Authorities were called to the scene of a car-motorcycle collision at around 11:52 a.m., close to 194 Beacon Valley Road.
A 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a resident of Naugatuck, was heading east on Beacon Valley Road around tenth of a mile east of the intersection of Beacon Manner Road, according to preliminary information provided by the Connecticut State Police. Viele was riding his motorcycle west on the same section of road at the same moment.
The motorbike "encroached into the eastbound travel lane and hit" the Tahoe, the investigation found. Viele was thrown off his motorcycle in the crash. He was taken to the hospital by emergency personnel, but he was later declared dead.
