A 23-year-old man was shot and killed in his house on Wednesday, allegedly by his girlfriend, with her 11-year-old child there. A homicide investigation is currently underway in Port Huron.
Bill Herman, Chase's stepfather, said of his kid, "It is plain foolish." It was not supposed to happen. killing a 23-year-old and then disappearing without explanation. He recently obtained a job and a car.
Serena Herman, Chase's mother, said her son was a level-headed young guy and a committed pool player. Through tears, she remarked, "He was like a rock; he constantly reassured me that everything will be okay."
Given that Chase met Goodall when he was about 20 years old, the Hermans voiced worries about the roughly two-decade age difference between the two.
Goodall's 11-year-old child was present in the house when the event occurred, according to police. The shooting's motivation is yet unknown.
The family of Chase hopes that his story will raise awareness of domestic abuse, especially as it affects men. On September 16, Goodall is expected to appear before Judge Mona Armstrong for a probable cause conference. In the meantime, a fundraiser has been established to celebrate Chase's love of pool and to assist with burial costs.
