According to the Riverside County Sheriff's public information officer, deputies and Cal Fire personnel arrived at Lakeside High School in Lake Elsinore on Friday afternoon after receiving reports of a deadly weapon assault.
Following the call, deputies began searching the school and its environs. No victims or suspects have been found as of yet.

Sheriff's officials verified that the report was for a deadly weapon assault around 3:40 p.m. Deputies started searching the school, but by 3:39 p.m., they had not discovered any signs of an incident. There were no reported injuries. According to authorities, they think the call might have been a false alarm.
3:54 p.m.: Firefighters and ambulances staged close by while deputies proceeded to evacuate the school. Authorities stressed that while the search is ongoing, no one is permitted on campus.
Lockdown in Schools
Parents were advised not to visit the campus by Lakeside High School's ParentSquare alert, which informed them that the school was on lockdown.
Reaction and Safety Measures
Out of extreme caution, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office and CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department had a significant presence on the scene, originally handling the situation as a potential active shooter scenario.
Although there are currently no reports of casualties or imminent threat, authorities said the investigation is still ongoing.
