There is a significant police presence in the area as a result of a shooting that happened on South Service Road close to Kelson Road North on Friday night, which is being investigated by the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS). The public is being asked to stay away from the location by authorities.
NRPS, Hamilton Police Service, Niagara EMS, and Hamilton EMS responded to shooting reports close to the Grimsby/Stoney Creek boundary at around 7:45 p.m. One individual was shot, according to the police, and taken to a local trauma center with critical but non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is still at large. He was last spotted wearing black clothing and walking west on South Service Road into Hamilton. As of right now, no additional description has been made public.
NRPS 8 District (Grimsby-Lincoln-West Lincoln) is in charge of the inquiry. Anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage, or anyone who may have been in the area, is being urged to come forward by detectives.
