On Thursday, September 25, at about 4:07 a.m., Chesterfield County Police Department officers responded to the 12300 block of Moores Lake Road after receiving allegations of a deadly weapon assault.

Officers found a man who had been shot many times when they arrived. At the scene, he was declared dead.

The victim's identification has not yet been made public by investigators since they need to notify their next of kin.

There is no continuous threat to the public, according to the police. A homicide investigation is underway into the event.
