 Recently graduated from high school, Emmary Sweeney is a strong young woman whose tenacity and resolve have motivated everyone in her vicinity. Emmary, who is well-known for her agility and commitment to sports, encountered an unthinkable obstacle in December after suffering a potentially fatal cardiac episode that necessitated three open heart surgeries.

Emmary has shown amazing tenacity even after spending several months in the intensive care unit and undergoing rehabilitation. She is presently confined to a wheelchair and undergoing intensive rehabilitation, putting in countless hours to regain her strength and self-sufficiency. Although she still has a long way to go, her energy and determination are unwavering.

Emmary has a strong interest in community, family, and health. She applies the same determination and concentration that helped her succeed as an athlete to her recuperation. According to many who know her, she is compassionate, tenacious, and incredibly appreciative of the overwhelming support she has gotten during this trying time.
