In remembrance of Rick Kuraly, a Massachusetts ice hockey star who passed away unexpectedly

 We regret to inform you of the demise of Rick Kuraly, a well-liked ice hockey player, a loving family man, and a real gentleman on and off the rink. Rick left a legacy of excellence, humility, and an everlasting love for his teammates, family, and the sport he loved when he passed away in Massachusetts.


In addition to being a gifted player, Rick is remembered in hockey history as a leader, mentor, and inspiration to countless numbers of people. Rick, a proud Miami University hockey alum, was a standout player whose talent, perseverance, and leadership contributed to the team's early success. In recognition of his long-lasting influence on the program, he was later admitted into the Miami Hockey Hall of Fame. His impact went well beyond the numbers; he established enduring relationships, molded a culture, and set the stage for future generations of RedHawks.


Because of his love for the game, Rick was able to fulfill his ambition of wearing the Boston Bruins jersey via perseverance and hard work. Even though he did not play professionally for long, he always felt a connection to the game. He continued to be a lifelong hockey ambassador, always encouraging the next generation, including his cherished son Sean Kuraly, who is currently an NHL player who followed in his father's footsteps.

Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Rick will be remembered by those who knew him. He was a guy of silent power and steadfast devotion – a devoted husband, a A dependable friend and a proud father. Rick had a way of making everyone around him feel appreciated and supported, whether it was by giving advise in the locker room, applauding from the stands, or enjoying a laugh with loved ones.


The Boston Bruins organization expressed their deepest sympathies to Sean and the Kuraly family in light of his demise. The loss of a genuine gentleman and lifetime hockey enthusiast is currently being lamented by the hockey community, including fans, coaches, and former teammates.


We honor Rick's life of integrity, humility, and purpose as we remember him. We will always remember his devotion to his teammates, his love for his family, and his lasting impact on the hockey community. His legacy will endure because of the innumerable lives he impacted, and he inspired many both on and off the rink.


Rick's wife, children, including Sean, as well as his extended family and friends will proudly and lovingly continue on his legacy.
