McBride, Phillip Andrew Accident in Henrico County, Virginia: Phillip Andrew McBride Found Dead in Henrico Crash
Phillip Andrew McBride, 37, a well-known sign spinner in the neighborhood, was recognized by authorities as the pedestrian who died in a terrible tractor-trailer collision on Thursday morning.
The fatal collision happened on September 4 at approximately 11:45 a.m. near the intersection of South Laburnum Avenue and Williamsburg Road. According to the police, McBride was at the crossroads when a smaller straight-truck transporting propane collided with a tractor-trailer with a big concrete slab. McBride was pinned below the tractor-trailer as it flipped onto its side due to the incident. He was declared dead at the site despite prompt emergency assistance.
After being transported to a nearby hospital for severe injuries, the tractor-trailer's driver was later released. The propane truck's driver was unharmed. There were no injuries to other onlookers.
Investigators think the tractor-trailer driver's running of a red signal on Williamsburg Road caused the collision. The rollover that killed McBride was caused by the propane truck, which was traveling on South Laburnum Avenue with a green light, colliding with the tractor-trailer.
McBride was a well-known and diligent figure to many people in Henrico County, who saw him every day as a sign spinner on major thoroughfares. Family, friends, and community members are in mourning following his unexpected death.
As authorities cleaned the wreckage and conducted an investigation, the collision resulted in significant traffic delays. To decide whether to press charges, authorities are still examining the material, which includes witness accounts and traffic light data.
