Obituary of Journey Cezzane Newland, Delaware, OH: A Loved One Has Died

 We regret to inform you of the untimely death of Journey Cezzane Newland, a cherished Delaware, Ohio citizen who passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 36.

Born in Delaware on May 25, 1989, Journey spent a significant portion of his life forming deep connections and making an effect on everyone who had the honor of knowing him. Journey was most importantly a loving father to his son, Easton. The foundation of his life was his love for his kid, and he treasured every second they spent together. Everyone could see Journey's commitment as a father, whether they were spending quiet time together or exploring the outdoors.

Professionally, Journey was a gifted and driven auto salesman who was extremely proud of what he did. He gained the trust of both clients and coworkers because of his friendliness, honesty, and approachability. His ability to connect with others went well beyond the office; he had a way of making others feel heard, noticed, and appreciated.

Journey had a lively attitude and a wide range of interests. He spent many hours climbing, fishing, and being by the sea—places where he felt most at peace—because he loved the natural world. His identity was rooted on storytelling, music, and faith. He had a heart of kindness, a sense of humor that could make even the worst days better, and an irresistible chuckle. His tales, which were always delivered with a gleam in his eye, revealed the depth of his personality and the breadth of his life's events.

Many people, including family, friends, coworkers, and the larger Delaware community, are deeply saddened by his departure. We are grateful for the time we spent with Journey and the happiness he brought into our lives, even as we mourn his passing.

Everyone who knew and loved Journey is welcome to attend a celebration of his life on September 19 at Delaware Christian Church to honor and express thanks for his life.
