A fight in Terrebonne Park, east of Montreal, killed a young man.

Terrebonne, a suburb east of Montreal, had a violent argument Friday night that resulted in the death of a young man.

Around 9 p.m., a brawl broke out at Angora Park, which is close to Sablière Elementary School. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said that provincial officers were summoned to help the Terrebonne officers Department.

Officers found a man with severe injuries who was between the ages of 18 and 20 when they got on the scene. He was taken to the hospital by emergency personnel, where he subsequently passed away from his injuries.

The event is being investigated as a homicide, according to SQ spokesperson Camille Savoie. The weapon or object used in the deadly assault has not yet been identified by investigators, though.

Overnight, a mobile command post was set up at the scene by members of the SQ's Major Crimes Division to collect evidence and speak with witnesses. The sequence of events leading up to the fatal altercation and the motivation behind it are being investigated by investigators.

According to authorities, the investigation is still ongoing and no arrests have been made as of Saturday morning.

Police are also looking for a young man who may have been hit by a car in the same vicinity and at roughly the same time as the murder, which is a different but perhaps related incident.

According to the SQ's statement, "the events are thought to have occurred locally and around the same time as the homicide." "The impact may have caused the victim to sustain injuries."

Anyone who may have seen the altercation, the crash, or who has information that could help with the inquiry is being asked to come forward by the police.

The public can give confidential information by calling 911 or 1-800-659-4264 to reach the Sûreté du Québec.

Residents in the peaceful Terrebonne neighborhood are frightened by the occurrence. While forensic teams searched the grounds for hints, Angora Park, which is usually a quiet place visited by families and kids, was closed off for the night.

One local resident remarked, "This is a fairly tranquil region – we never see anything like this." "The idea that anything that horrific might occur so close to a school is terrifying."

Authorities are asking the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity or information that could aid in the investigation of this case as police continue their investigation.

Until family members have been notified, the victim's identity has not yet been made public.
