 Authorities are looking into the murder of a 20-year-old man who was shot and killed on Monday night in Copiah County.

As reported by the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement was dispatched to the Copiah County Medical Center at approximately 11:10 p.m. after they were informed that a man with a gunshot wound had been admitted for medical care.

Upon their arrival, deputies discovered that the individual, identified as 20-year-old Decedric Stampley, had unfortunately died as a result of his injuries and was declared dead shortly afterward.

Since then, detectives have initiated a homicide investigation to uncover the details surrounding the deadly shooting. Currently, authorities have not disclosed any information regarding a potential suspect or the motive behind the incident.
