 Following a terrible car accident on October 2nd, Gary Nicoll tragically died, leaving the town of East Greenbush, New York, in mourning.

Gary had a Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI), one of the most devastating types of head trauma, in addition to numerous fractures and serious internal injuries.

Gary's injuries proved too serious in the end, despite the heroic efforts of medical experts and the steadfast hope of his loved ones, leaving a devastated family and community in shock.

Gary heroically battled at the Albany Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit for days after the tragedy, flanked by his wife Amanda, their six-month-old daughter Lucy, and close family members.

As a committed speech-language pathologist who has devoted her professional life to assisting people in recovering from brain injuries, Amanda had to deal with the unfathomable reality of experiencing the trauma she had so frequently assisted others in overcoming. Everyone who knows her has been impacted by her elegance, bravery, and strength in the face of such great adversity.

According to many who knew him, he was a pleasant and optimistic person who was a devoted parent, a loving husband, and a loyal friend. Throughout his life, he won over many people with his ability to make everyone feel appreciated and accepted.

Gary, who is originally from Troy, New York, went to Tamarac Senior High School before establishing a prosperous career at Ayco in New York City. He was respected by both clients and coworkers for his professionalism, work ethic, and laid-back demeanor.

Gary's life focused on his family and friends when he was not working. Spending time with Amanda and baby Lucy brought him the most delight; he treasured every laugh, every grin, and every parenting moment.
