Heather Crews St. Louis, MO Traffic Incident: Victim Recognized in Deadly Hit-and-Run on I-70 West near Adelaide

 Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who died in the hit-and-run incident on Interstate 70 near Adelaide Avenue early Thursday morning as 38-year-old Heather Crews from St. Louis.


The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported that the unfortunate event took place at approximately 5:30 a.m. on October 2, 2025, when Crews climbed over a barrier near the westbound side of I-70 and started to walk toward the interstate. Investigators have found video evidence indicating that she waited for the traffic to clear before trying to cross the roadway.


During her attempt to cross, Crews was hit by an unidentified vehicle that left the location. Authorities suspect she was then struck by other vehicles following the first collision. None of the drivers present stopped to assist or remain at the site. Paramedics reached the scene shortly after and declared Heather Crews dead at the location.

Both District 6 Detectives and Accident Reconstruction specialists are actively investigating this case.
