Karen Drew’s Family Tragedy | Husband Paul Gorcyca Drew’s Legacy

 The towns of Royal Oak and Troy in Michigan are mourning the loss of a beloved individual, Paul Gorcyca Drew, who departed this life on September 15, 2025. Endearingly referred to as “Goose,” Paul was known for his lively character, infectious smile, and kind nature, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to meet him. His giving nature, coupled with his steadfast warmth and humor, established him as a treasured friend, devoted family member, and active participant in the community.

Born on December 25, 1963, Paul’s existence was a reflection of love and zeal. His early experiences at St. Regis and Brother Rice High School, where he shone in both baseball and basketball, through to his collegiate tenure at Michigan State University, highlighted his passion for sports and living life to the fullest. His commitment to MSU remained steadfast throughout his life, fueling his devotion and affection for the Spartans, a spirit he shared with his daughters Madison and Morgan with pride.

Paul's career was defined by significant accomplishments in the automotive sector. His roles in leadership at companies such as Venture Industries, Plastech, and the Piston Group revealed his skills, moral character, and ambition. Even with his professional successes, his family always took precedence in his heart. His daughters, Madison and Morgan, were the lights of his world, and he thrived in the role of “girl dad,” passing down his interests, values, and love to them.

As an enthusiastic sports supporter, Paul's zeal for “Go Green, Go White” was infectious. He enjoyed tailgating at MSU events, attending his daughters' sporting activities, and playing golf with friends, all of which were some of his favorite hobbies. He was also recognized for his kindness and generosity, frequently hosting family gatherings, Polish sausage events, and merrily celebrating cherished holiday customs.

Paul’s influence transcends his personal achievements; it is firmly embedded in the numerous lives he impacted through his generosity and modesty. His spontaneous Irish dances and humorous spirit brought happiness to many. While the details of his passing remain private, his family and friends find solace in commemorating his remarkable life.

A memorial service is scheduled for September 23, 2025, at A.J. Desmond & Sons in Royal Oak, followed by a funeral mass at St. Regis Catholic Church on September 24. Paul will always be remembered as a man who loved wholeheartedly, gave freely, and embraced life to the fullest.
