The Hollywood, Florida-based Memorial Regional Hospital was placed under lockdown on Thursday.
According to local authorities, Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon following reports of a suspicious individual on or near the hospital grounds.
Officers were called to the hospital after someone was reported acting strangely within or close to one of the hospital's buildings, according to the Hollywood Police Department. Being overly cautious, hospital management implemented a lockdown, limiting access and departure while police conducted an investigation.
While cops searched the medical facility, security guards were positioned at strategic locations and visitors and employees were told to remain indoors.

According to authorities, as of Thursday afternoon, no weapon had been discovered and no one had been hurt. To make sure the property was safe, officers kept sweeping the area.
The hospital's main entrance on North 35th Avenue was surrounded by more police officers, and nearby roadways were temporarily closed.
Police stated in the early afternoon that everything was under control and that the public was not in any danger.
As regular operations gradually resumed, Memorial Regional Hospital, one of the biggest hospitals in South Florida, remained on heightened alert.
