Two cousins were killed in a murder-suicide in Jamaica, New York, including Queens rapper YP DA YG.

Two cousins were killed in a murder-suicide Friday night following a terrible family disagreement over the sale of a house in Jamaica, Queens. One of the victims was identified as rapper YP DA YG, whose real name was Prince McFarlane.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) reported that just before midnight on Friday, October 3, officers were summoned to a residence on 116th Road near 155th Street in response to shooting reports. Police found Prince McFarlane, 37, dead inside the house from gunshot wounds, and his older cousin, Antoine, 41, with a gunshot wound to his head that he had self-inflicted.

After being taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Antoine was declared dead shortly after. Near his body, a firearm was found at the scene.

Investigators were informed by family members that the deadly incident was caused by a dispute over the sale of Antoine's mother's blue-sided, two-bedroom family home. According to reports, the home was put up for sale around a month prior, asking for about $600,000.

The victims' 62-year-old uncle, who resides in the house's basement, claims that McFarlane was helping Antoine manage the sale. According to reports, the two men argued about how the sale's revenues would be split.

The uncle said that it was related to the house's selling. "It had to do with how the money was distributed."

Before killing himself, authorities think Antoine might have spent many hours inside the house with his cousin's body.

The uncle stated he was with McFarlane's longterm partner, who had been waiting outside in her car since 6:30 p.m. when she could not get through to him, when he got home at approximately 11:45 p.m.

A neighbor remarked, "She claimed his truck is here and I have not heard from him since 11 a.m." "The truck had arrived at about midday."

McFarlane's body was found close to the living room doorway when the uncle and the girlfriend entered the dimly lit house.

She notices him. She lets out a scream. She bursts into tears," the uncle recalled. He did not move. He must have spent some time there.

The uncle dragged the woman out of the house because he was afraid Antoine was still inside and armed. He heard one gunshot coming from above a few moments later.

According to the uncle, "it sounded like he was coming down the steps until his body dropped." "I called 911 once we rushed out to the driveway."

A young rapper from Jamaica, Queens, Prince McFarlane—known to his fans as YP DA YG—was well-known for his tough lyrics and strong neighborhood links. Social media tributes have been posted by friends and supporters, who recall him as a gifted artist with "a voice that spoke for the streets of Queens."

One acquaintance posted on the internet, "He loved music and family." "That things ended this way is awful.

The NYPD's 113th Precinct detectives are still looking into the murder-suicide. Although family members insist that financial anxiety over the property sale was the catalyst for the fatal altercation, police have not made any official findings regarding the motive.

No other injuries were reported in the event, according to authorities.

The inquiry is still under progress.
