Zane P. Jackson Caroline County, VA Traffic Incident: A Deadly Collision in Caroline County Takes the Life of a 21-Year-Old Motorist

 A devastating multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 southbound resulted in the death of a young motorist on Sunday evening in Caroline County.

Virginia State Police reported that the incident took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. on October 5, 2025, close to the 110-mile marker. The first impact involved a 2010 Chevrolet and a 2017 Ford, which left both cars stranded on the road. Shortly after, a 2018 Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling south was unable to steer clear of the wreck and collided with the Chevrolet from the rear.

The Chevrolet’s driver, 21-year-old Zane P. Jackson, suffered severe injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he ultimately passed away. Two teenage individuals who were passengers in the Chevrolet were also transported to the hospital with significant injuries.

Neither the Freightliner’s driver nor the Ford sedan's occupant reported any injuries. Authorities indicated that everyone involved was using seatbelts at the moment of the accident.

Officials closed multiple southbound lanes for several hours while State Police Crash Reconstruction Teams examined the site and removed debris.

The case is still under thorough investigation as officers strive to establish the timeline and circumstances that led to the tragic accident.
