Aaron Papazoglu Arrested: Aaron Papazoglu Identified as Young Driver Charged in Hornsby Parking Lot Incident Resulting in Death of Pregnant Woman

 A 33-year-old woman, who was expecting a child, tragically died along with her unborn baby after being involved in a crash involving multiple vehicles in the northwestern region of Sydney. Authorities have charged a teenager with driving offenses related to the accident.

Emergency responders were alerted shortly after 8 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025, following reports of a pedestrian being hit near the entrance of a parking garage on George Street in Hornsby.

According to officials, a BMW driven by 19-year-old Aaron Papazoglu rear-ended a Kia Carnival, pushing the Kia forward and striking the woman as she walked with her husband and their three-year-old child.

NSW Ambulance paramedics provided care to the woman, who was in her eighth month of pregnancy, before taking her to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition. Despite efforts to save her, both she and her unborn child did not survive shortly after.

Neither the BMW driver nor the 48-year-old operator of the Kia experienced injuries. Both drivers were subjected to mandatory testing. There were no passengers present in either vehicle.

The Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command established a crime scene, and the Crash Investigation Unit conducted an extensive forensic examination overnight.

Around 12:45 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, police arrested Papazoglu at a house on Millewa Avenue in Wahroonga. He was taken to Hornsby Police Station and faces charges of:

Authorities indicate that the young driver, who holds a provisional license, may encounter a maximum penalty of up to ten years imprisonment if convicted.

Papazoglu has been denied bail and is expected to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.

The woman’s husband and their young son, who witnessed the horrific event, were physically unharmed but received shock treatment on site.
