San Antonio Homicide Investigation: 23-Year-Old Zachary Owens Killed in Western Area

 San Antonio, TX — Authorities have named 23-year-old Zachary James Owens as the individual who sadly lost his life in an incident that occurred on the West Side of San Antonio. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that Owens died from injuries sustained in what is classified as a homicide. The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, which happened in the early morning hours of November 8.



At roughly 4:30 a.m., officers from the SAPD were sent to the 5600 block of Culebra Road after receiving alerts about possible gunfire. Upon their arrival, the officers found Owens lying on the ground with significant injuries. Although medical personnel made efforts to save him, Owens was declared deceased at the scene.

Investigation and Search for Suspect

According to witnesses, a man dressed in dark clothing was seen leaving the scene on foot shortly after the incident. The SAPD is thoroughly reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and residences to help identify the suspect. The motive behind the attack is unclear, and authorities have yet to verify whether Owens had any prior dealings with the person involved.
