 Iron Mountain, Michigan — Not long ago, Shannyn Caldwell, a beloved writer, naturopath, radio personality, and the founder of Healing Season, passed away, leaving behind a remarkable heritage steeped in kindness, faith, and joy. Raised in Iron Mountain, Michigan, Shannyn dedicated her life to helping others, embracing holistic health, and fostering deep connections with her friends, family, and the broader community.


Shannyn had a talent for communication, inspiring countless listeners as an on-air personality at Family Life Radio since 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. Her dedication to guiding people toward both physical and spiritual health was evident during her earlier role with Greater Media Detroit from 2000 to 2006 while based in Ferndale, Michigan.

In addition to her radio endeavors, Shannyn's devotion to wellness led her to study naturopathic medicine at the Genesis School of Natural Health, from which she graduated as a Traditional Naturopathic Doctor in 2019. Furthermore, she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wright State University, completing her degree in 1992, which reflected her creative and artistic spirit.

As the creator and director of Healing Season, Shannyn developed custom programs that combined holistic health practices with spiritual wisdom, greatly influencing lives in profound and lasting ways. She also founded Hope Yoga, where she advocated for the cultivation of inner peace and outer balance through mindful movement, meditation, and faith-centered practices. Her work consistently emphasized empathy, healing, and hope.

Friends and family members remember Shannyn as a lively, encouraging, and deeply joyful person. One close friend shared, “My precious, sweet, amazing friend Shannyn Caldwell is now with Jesus in Heaven. We were brought together by God at the perfect time, supporting each other through tough moments while also enjoying many joyful experiences together. She lovingly called me Pastor Princess and introduced me to the joy of Taco Tuesday. I am filled with great sorrow at her loss, but take comfort in knowing that I will meet her again in paradise.” Her vibrant personality, love, and unwavering faith made every interaction with her completely memorable.

Shannyn’s memory will continue through her daughter, Alex Biedenbach; her aunts Lynn Cook and Terry Newcomb Masty; her niece Taylor Caldwell; and her cousins Ben Cook, Denise Johnson, and Marissa Parker. She also leaves behind many friends, colleagues, and students whose lives were enriched by her wisdom, mentorship, and affection.
